Rainy Day, Please Stay

So how is your Wednesday going for you?
Mine, I woke up to the pitter-patter of rain on our windows. The sky was all gloomy and dark clouds loomed. I’m sure there are a lot of people who would not want to get up to this weather; the rain dampens their day. Wet, gloomy, raining, and a what’s-there-to-be-happy-about feeling. So today I woke up with a smile, went to work, and worked through the day glancing once in awhile at the glass wall watching the rain.
There’s just something about rainy days. I am beginning to like it. I used to not be a big fan of the rain. Not when you experience it half of the year; coz from where I came from, there’s only two seasons – dry and wet. And the wet part involves numerous typhoons or tropical storms. Not fun. And I just wanted it to go away. But ever since I moved to Oklahoma, I found myself praying for rain during the summer since it gets too hot and too humid here. Even just a little sprinkle helps.
So when I woke up to the sound of rain today, it made me happy not gloomy. One thing is we really needed this rain, it’s just been too hot and dry. Also, the rain brings about some sort of cleansing – be it mind, body, or spirit. It just seems to wash all the troubles away. I feel refreshed. And if it continues to rain until this evening, then that’s just a good excuse to just stay inside, drink some hot chocolate, snuggle, and watch old 80’s movies. That sounds like a good idea! I might just even sit still here for awhile with my cup of tea and watch the rain. I like this feeling and it helps me think a lot. Do you like rainy days?

Rainy day, please stay.
