We are Scott & Kristine, husband and wife alternative wedding photographers behind Blue Elephant Photography. We are based in Oklahoma with our furry boy Fuji. We’re big fans of love, travel, and adventures which takes us to Colorado, New Mexico, Arkansas, Texas, Washington and across the world. We are passionate about documenting genuine and uninhibited love between two people because telling their story matters.
We were so excited to be asked to shoot Chris and Jana’s wedding at The Barn at the Woods in Edmond, OK. We knew that it would be filled with so much love, support, and smiling faces. It would be a real party! We captured Jana’s sister’s wedding awhile back so it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces. The most beautiful part of the whole day was that this was more than a wedding between two people. Chris, Jana, and their little one Fin, would be a family. During the dinner speeches, there wasn’t a dry eye there because it was the celebration of a new family that was meant to be.
That morning, in the big white stately farmhouse it felt like the morning after a girl’s sleepover. The inside was so cozy and it was a reunion of the best of friends. Jana’s lace long-sleeved wedding dress was so stunning! I loved the mismatched flowing chiffon bridesmaid dresses, with her sisters in aqua-teal and friends in a neutral hue. The greenery and white bloom bouquets looked like they were picked fresh from an overgrown garden. Chris & Jana’s first look under the chandelier in the historic barn was everything! Throughout the day the old barn was always in view but I wouldn’t describe it as a rustic wedding. It was a classy fall wedding brought outdoors to a beautiful farm. The ceremony under the giant oak tree was picture perfect. Jason Swanson on his guitar created a lively romantic atmosphere that set the tone for a reception that looked like it came right out of a dream. China and white tablecloths lined long rows of farm tables. Eucalyptus leaves were overflowing on the tables. The whole space was lit by bistro lights overhead. A warm glow spilled from the old barn that vibrated with song and dance all night!
