Art Deco Inspired Wedding | Joe ♥ Carol

Joe and Carol are avid bicyclists and their story has always revolved around their love of biking and the outdoors. It all started when Carol bought a bike from Joe’s friend. Since Carol was new to cycling he suggested she meet up with Joe who knew all the best bike routes in Tulsa. Soon enough they had their first official date…a bike ride to dinner of course! Their love of cycling and each other continued to grow. When the time came, Joe thought the obvious spot to propose would be during a leisurely bike ride but it kept raining every day. One night they had a dinner reservation and Joe was hoping they could bike there where he could find just the right spot. Again, it was raining! The big question had been lingering in Carol’s mind too and she finally couldn’t wait anymore and asked Joe point blank why they weren’t engaged yet. Joe replied “Do you want the ring now or later?” She thought of course that he was joking but sure enough Joe dug a ring out of his pocket. He asked her to marry him and through tears she said “Yes, of course!”.

Joe and Carol tied the knot at the beautiful historical Dresser Mansion in Tulsa, OK. Their whole wedding was inspired by the Art Deco era and the whole day was nothing short of glamorous. I love Carol’s Sue Wong dress and her sister’s bridesmaid dresses were so much fun too. They drew upon their engineering background for the unique Art Deco lanterns. Every table had a beautiful custom made lantern that they designed and cut at a local laser shop. The lovely ceremony backdrop was also another DIY project. The gorgeous cakes from Ann’s Bakery fit in perfectly with the decor and were as delicious as they looked. Joe and Carol are such an amazing and genuine couple. Carol is actually a good friend and old classmate from our college days so it was extra special being a part of their day. Joe is also such a kind and gentle soul and looked very sharp in his custom tailored blue suit. It was an intimate love-filled celebration with supportive family and friends followed with a killer dance party and a bicycle-bell-ringing going away.
