We are Scott & Kristine, husband and wife alternative wedding photographers behind Blue Elephant Photography. We are based in Oklahoma with our furry boy Fuji. Travis and Jeffrey are two very special people to us and I’m so excited to share their Lafayette Square Park wedding in St. Louis, MO. Jeff was actually a friend from back home in Cebu, Philippines. We had sung in the ministry together. Jeff has always had a very talented voice. He is recognized for his singing and has won many contests. We hadn’t been in touch in years when suddenly I found out he was also in the states. He was going to school, found the love of his life, and luckily also found us! We first reconnected for an engagement session at Forest Park in St. Louis.
On their wedding day, the entire day deserved to be celebrated! And the day always starts off with breakfast. Faint morning light peeked through the large windows of a downtown loft as they shared waffles and fruits in bed. I love couples that get ready alone together. It felt like an elopement…personal and heartwarming. The entire day was very intimate. We ventured around St. Louis, and even with all the clouds and fog we had to catch the impressive Gateway Arch. Strolling through Lafayette Square Park, it started to rain but that just gave us an excuse to break out the umbrellas. Nothing was going to stop these two from enjoying the day. They admired the historic homes around Lafayette Square before heading into the victorian Park House in Lafayette Square Park for their intimate ceremony.
The reception was done family style at a local Italian restaurant called Maggiano’s Little Italy. The food was so good! I’ll definitely be coming back here the next time I’m in St. Louis. In classic Filipino style, the toasts were done karaoke style. Singing had to be part of the day! There was impromptu dancing, games, and lots of laughing. There was always someone sitting at the keyboard keeping the party going all night. The day was perfect.
