Love Shoot at the Charleston Battery
Nicolas and Devon had traveled from South Carolina to Asheville for a little getaway and a visit to the iconic Biltmore Estate. (Don’t worry—Charleston photos are coming!) We happened to be there that same day when we noticed the most well-dressed, kind-looking couple wandering the grounds. They were effortlessly adorable, and before we could second-guess ourselves, we asked if we could take a few photos. They were gracious, fun, and completely up for it. As we chatted, we learned they were heading back to South Carolina later that week—just as we were planning a drive toward Charleston to visit The Battery and Folly Beach. One spontaneous hello turned into plans for a full session in historic downtown Charleston.
What started as a serendipitous meeting became the sweetest, sun-soaked afternoon. We explored cobblestone streets, historic homes, and hidden alleyways, soaking in all the charm. A stroll past the colorful homes of Rainbow Row felt like stepping into a watercolor painting—pastel facades, blooming window boxes, and that golden Southern light filtering between buildings. After wandering along the promenade by the seawall, we followed the ocean breeze to the shore, ending the day with the dreamiest sunset at the beach. Devon and Nicolas are the kind of people who make you believe in happy coincidences. Laid back, joyful, and radiant in the best way—they’re truly like a ray of sunshine.
