We are Scott & Kristine, husband and wife alternative wedding photographers behind Blue Elephant Photography. We are based in Oklahoma with our furry boy Fuji. We’re big fans of love, travel, and adventures which takes us to Colorado, New Mexico, Arkansas, Texas, Washington and across the world. We are passionate about documenting genuine and uninhibited love between two people because telling their story matters.
With our wedding photography, the goal is to provide a tangible way for our couples to look back on their happiest memories and relive the most important moments in their lives. There’s no better way to do this than with photos. A lot of times the photographer is one of the first vendors a couple books after the venue. So, it was common for us to help them find other quality vendors. We frequently get asked whether we can help with a photo booth or whether we know an awesome photo booth rental company. When we are at a reception we want our full attention to be on documenting the event. Our favorite photos are the in-between moments and it’s challenging when you’re running between guests and a DIY photo booth. However, many of the photo booths in Tulsa and OKC looked clunky and claustrophobic. Most noticeably, the photo quality just wasn’t there and the print designs were boring. We’re based in Stillwater, OK which has a growing wedding and event industry and there definitely wasn’t a local option. We’re not in the business of down-talking other photo booth vendors. In fact, to this day we refer many of them and work to promote a friendly atmosphere between wedding vendors we work with in general. People hire professionals for very important events in their lives. So on those days, we the professionals, are a team. In the end, our solution was to start our own photo booth company, Mod Fox Photobooth, a quality and local photo booth rental option for Stillwater and the surrounding areas.
When we started Mod Fox Photobooth, our top criteria was that we take the best photos possible. As a photo booth rental company, this may seem obvious, but this didn’t seem like the focus in the photo booth industry as a whole. I think the reason was because we are wedding photographers. The quality of photos is important to us and always at the top of our minds. Or maybe, other photo booth companies that don’t have a background in photography, may not know what is possible. With photos in mind, we built our booth with pro photography equipment. We used a DSLR camera, a studio strobe {the crazy umbrella light}, a top of the line tablet, and a fast high resolution photo printer. We put it all inside a chic and stylish white booth. We kept it all open-air because we believe it’s more fun when everyone can see the shenanigans going on and it sure helps that you can fit a bunch of people. We know how much people love sharing photos. We’re posting photos all the time! So, we built a social media station that lets guests email the photos instantly to themselves. They can then share on facebook, instagram, and snapchat to their hearts content during the event. We create a custom personalized template for every single event. We work with clients to match their theme or invitation so that their event is cohesive from start to finish. We even make Snapchat Geofilters!
We can’t be everywhere at once and we don’t want the booth to interfere with our work as wedding photographers, so we have amazing trained attendants. They are really fun and know how to create a product that’s up to the standards of our wedding photography business. We are big dreamers. Our goal is to the be the top photo booth in Oklahoma. Our marketing is mostly word of mouth, so we hope that guests see the difference! We commonly are asked about discounts. It never hurts to ask. We can offer a special rate for events that book us for both photography and our photo booth.
