We are Scott & Kristine, husband and wife alternative wedding photographers behind Blue Elephant Photography. We are based in Oklahoma with our furry boy Fuji. We’re big fans of love, travel, and adventures which takes us to Colorado, New Mexico, Arkansas, Texas, Washington and across the world. We are passionate about documenting genuine and uninhibited love between two people because telling their story matters.
Kevin and McKenna met when they both worked as baristas at Aspen Coffee at Lakeview, a local coffee shop in Stillwater, Oklahoma that we oh so love. That was about 6 years ago, and that’s when we met them too. They became quick friends, were there for each other at the best and worse times, and as years went by Kevin knew that McKenna is the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Little did McKenna know, out on their porch in Pagosa Springs, Colorado on a rainy June day, Kevin, who was shaking and speechless was going to ask her to be his wife + Charlie Brown’s forever doggie mom. She said ‘Yes’ of course! Kevin just moved to the Oregon coast with McKenna following a few weeks later. They hadn’t seen each other for awhile and what better way to celebrate being engaged and home together again than exploring Cape Kiwanda with Charlie!
The last time we saw them was when McKenna was a bridesmaid at her friend’s wedding in Texas. So we all enjoyed a late lunch at a beach front restaurant and caught up on life’s adventures. Once it was closer to sunset, we started strolling down the beach which was dotted with seagulls and people gathering for July 4th celebrations. Charlie was such a great sport, happy to be in photos or dutifully giving them some space. Cape Kiwanda by Pacific City is such a beautiful and unique area. They ran in the cold water with Charlie and had the best time. To get to the top of the cape we had to hike up steep sandy dunes and along a sandstone cliff. Once at the top there are little hidden oases and groves to privately enjoy the views. It has its own iconic Haystack Rock looming just offshore and the views at sunset are gorgeous on the Oregon coast. Before it got dark we all headed down and watched the fireworks. Couldn’t have asked for a better ending to the day. So happy for these guys!
