We are Scott & Kristine, husband and wife alternative wedding photographers behind Blue Elephant Photography. We are based in Oklahoma with our furry boy Fuji. Weddings at The Springs Event Venue in Tulsa, OK are always wonderful because there is plenty of space for everyone to spread out and there’s always inside and outside options at this lakeside venue. The bridesmaids and groomsmen have their own getting ready rooms. It has a beautiful ceremony space outside with views of Skiatook Lake and a large ballroom with a grand staircase and stage for an awesome reception. When we arrived, rain clouds loomed and it brought us right back to their Gloss Mountain Engagement Session. They always seem to attract unpredictable weather when with them, lol. But we were so excited being back at The Springs to photograph Jon & Katy’s wedding because even if it drizzled a bit before the ceremony, nothing could faze them. And in any case, they are always so positive and we knew the day would be so much fun!
The morning with the girls was filled with fruit, mimosas, and laughter. It was an awesome start to the day. One of my favorite parts was seeing Katy in her long cathedral veil. She looked so amazing in her dress! And then as I watched Katy and her dad walk down the aisle, they exchanged a glance that I will never forget. He looked at her with reassurance and she returned the happiest smile but there was so much more emotion and connection shared without a single word spoken. The perfect happiness was overwhelming and it reminds me how it’s the many small moments that make the big events. There were so many unforgettable small moments at this wedding. I can confidently say that the dance party at their reception was the most epic one to date! And Mod Fox Photobooth kicked the laughter up a few more notches. These two are truly beautiful people inside and out and it turned out to be a gorgeous celebration.
Congrats Jon and Katy! What an amazing day! I just know how happy you will make each other.
