Wedding Planning Guide

We want your wedding day to unfold naturally so that when you look back at your photos, you remember how the day truly was. Before your wedding, we will help you with a wedding day timeline so you can get all your vendors & festivities lined up ahead of time. That way, on your wedding, we can capture genuine moments and tell the entire story of your day. The day isn't about hours of posing for photos, it’s about enjoying the celebration with the people you love!

WEDDING DAY TIMELINE

Having great light for portraits and the ceremony is important to be able to capture the best photos possible. Before you pick out your ceremony time, you need to check sunset time on your wedding date, decide whether you want to do a first look, and most importantly sit down with your photographer. This is why we work with you on a wedding day timeline in all of our wedding collections.

It’s little moments that mean the most. The ones no one else gets to see, the ones in between. It’s important to also let your photographer know all the experiences you want to have even if they seem quick, like a first look with dad. It’s important to have time to slow down and create space where these moments can happen naturally. The last thing we want on your wedding day is to feel rushed or stressed. We want you to soak it all in and live every moment of it!

FIRST LOOK

wedding first look

A first look can be amazingly intimate. It adds a special moment to your day where you get to see each other for the first time in your wedding attire away from the prying eyes of others. It’s some rare alone time to calm each other’s pre-ceremony jitters and maybe exchange a letter, a gift, or just some reassuring words. The other benefit is that since you’ve seen each other, we can also get all the formal photos out of the way. In the end, this is your day. We never pressure couples one way or the other, but always work with your photographer so that they have enough time to take beautiful newlywed photos that you can forever look back on.

unplugged wedding ceremony

UNPLUGGED CEREMONY

It's expected that your guests will bring their phones and cameras to your wedding. It doesn't bother us at all if they snap away throughout the day. However, the actually ceremony {the heart of the day's celebration} is the one time that can't be redone and there are certain moments that just can't be missed. Phones in outstretched arms as you walk down the aisle, or wayward flashes going off during the first kiss can ruin capturing a beautiful moment. We won't get those tears of joy of family and friends if they are distracted with their gadgets. We encourage couples to have an Unplugged Ceremony. You can announce it on a chalk board, in your program, or better yet, have your officiant announce it before the ceremony begins.
