Surprise Rooftop Proposal at Plenty Mercantile
Some proposals are quiet and intimate, and then there are proposals like Tim and Tovan’s, bold and joyful and bursting with personality. Tim knew from the start that asking Tovan to marry him couldn’t be just a moment. It had to be a celebration, a grand and vibrant declaration surrounded by everyone they loved. So he got to work, carefully orchestrating every detail in secret, enlisting his closest friends and a roster of incredibly talented vendors to bring his vision to life. The rooftop at The Venue at Plenty Mercantile in Oklahoma City was the obvious choice. With its cool industrial character, lush greenery, and one of the most stunning views of the OKC skyline, it was the kind of backdrop that makes everything feel cinematic and alive.
To pull off the surprise without raising a single suspicion, Tim wrapped the entire proposal around Tovan’s birthday. As far as the guests knew, they were headed to a birthday party, and while Tovan’s closest friends whisked her away for drinks and appetizers, Tim and his crew transformed the rooftop into something truly magical. Creative Etch Studio crafted a stunning triangular arch adorned with pampas and dried palms alongside beautiful custom signage, while The Picnic Project brought in boho chic tables, pillows, and wares that gave the space a warm and effortlessly stylish energy. Every detail was intentional, every element perfectly placed.
When Tovan reached the top of those stairs, the only thing in her view was Tim, standing beneath that breathtaking arch with the glittering Oklahoma City skyline stretched out behind him, looking back at her with nothing but love. He got down on one knee and she said yes. What followed was a blur of happy tears, laughter, and embraces as their closest friends poured in to celebrate. The music pumped, the drinks flowed, and Mod Fox Photobooth captured every joyful moment of the party that followed. Tim and Tovan, your love story is already one for the books and we could not be more honored to have been there for its most beautiful chapter yet.
