We are Scott & Kristine, husband and wife alternative wedding photographers behind Blue Elephant Photography. We are based in Oklahoma with our furry boy Fuji. We always encourage our couples when planning their wedding to be intentional and make the day their own. Nowadays nothing’s set in stone and you want to put your own signature stamp on it. That’s exactly what Corbit & Kelsey did, and their wedding at Sparrow Beginnings in Stillwater, OK was nothing short of amazing! All their favorite people from 22 states came to celebrate their love and they wanted to give everyone a good ol’ Oklahoma welcome with a nod toward Oklahoma State University. It didn’t take long for the happy tears to start rolling, once it was time for the first look with dad in the morning. It was heartwarming watching his surprise and happiness in seeing a printed photo on his tie of them together from when the bride was a little girl.
Corbit and his groomsmen were cool cats in their cowboy hats and Kelsey looked absolutely radiant in her something blue shoes and holding her vibrant OSU orange lily bouquet. In fact, orange lilies accented with dried wheat grasses brightened every corner. Guests entering the ceremony were greeted by a bagpiper and were seated for the ceremony overlooking rolling Oklahoma hills. Afterwards, cattle tags, taking the place of escort cards, corralled guests to their tables in preparation for the rousing party to come.
We’ve heard hundreds of best man speeches over the years and I can confidently say that Corbit’s brother is a very funny fellow indeed. It was tricky keeping myself from laughing to steady my camera. The day was filled with many surprises including a cake cutting with a sword and an old Ford pickup truck carrying them away at the end of the night. The wedding was beautiful and filled with memorable personal touches but most of all it was just plain fun. So happy for these two. They are truly the sweetest, kindest, and most gracious couple.
