Wildly Romantic Engagement at Woolaroc

Charlie and Caitlyn’s engagement session at Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve felt like discovering a hidden world you almost can’t believe exists. Tucked away on a vast stretch of land in the Osage Hills of Northeastern Oklahoma, far from the noise of everyday life, Woolaroc is the kind of place that surprises you at every turn. The drive alone feels surreal. One moment you are on a quiet Oklahoma road, and the next you are slowing down for buffalo crossing, catching glimpses of zebras and towering ostriches in the distance. It feels unexpected, a little wild, and completely unforgettable in the best way. What makes it even more fascinating is its history. Built over a century ago by oil pioneer Frank Phillips, Woolaroc was once a private retreat, a hidden sanctuary that still carries that sense of secrecy and wonder today. You can feel it as you move through the property. It is expansive, a little mysterious, and entirely its own.

As we explored, something magical kept unfolding in the most natural way. Horses wandered through the background as if they had been perfectly placed, though nothing about the day was staged. The light was soft, the air felt still, and everywhere we turned there was another quiet, beautiful moment waiting to happen. It was the kind of setting that does not need much. It simply lets the story unfold on its own. And Charlie and Caitlyn made that story effortless. They are the kind of couple that immediately puts you at ease. Kind, genuine, and so clearly connected, they brought a warmth to every frame that cannot be manufactured. The way they laughed together, the way they naturally fell into step with one another, it all felt easy and real in the most beautiful way.

It’s better with music!

This engagement session was not just about a location, though Woolaroc certainly left its mark. It was about the feeling of the day. The quiet magic of an unexpected place, the joy of a couple completely themselves, and the kind of moments that come together without trying too hard. It was soft, it was vibrant, and it was entirely theirs.
